Can I earn any money for recycling my personal electronics?
We generally do not purchase personal electronics from consumers—due to their age, quality, and quantity, personal electronics do not usually retain enough value after processing for us to make payouts.* However, some personal electronics do still have value and we encourage you to check out these resources if you are considering selling your personal IT equipment. And of course, you are always welcome to drop them off at our facility for recycling—even if we cannot pay you for your equipment you will have peace of mind knowing that your data is secure and you have done your part in protecting the environment.
*If you wish to dispose of IT equipment for your business please see our FAQs for businesses or contact us.
Is there a charge for dropping off my electronics?
It depends. Most electronics are accepted for recycling free of charge, but we do impose recycling fees for some electronic items. You can find the full list of items we accept, along with any associated recycling fees, by clicking here, but the two most common recycling fees are for:
CRT Monitors: $.35/pound
CRT (Picture tube) Televisions: $.35/pound

Do you have a drop off location?
Where are you located and what are your drop off hours?
6600 Long Point Rd.
Houston, TX 77055
- If you are coming from Silber Road: Turn right on Long Point and we are located about 500 feet down on the left in the Long Point Business Center.
- If you are coming from Hempstead Road: Turn onto Long Point and we are located about 1000 feet down on the right in the Long Point Business Center.
You can drop off your electronics for recycling any time Monday-Friday 8 am-4:30 pm, but we strongly encourage you to avoid dropping off equipment during our lunch hour (12-1 pm). Since most of our employees leave the premises during this time, you may have an extended wait while we locate someone to assist you.
What do I have to do when I arrive to drop off my electronics?
Come to the main office (suite 103) and let us know that you are here to recycle electronics. We will direct you to one of our loading docks and arrange for one of our employees to meet you and help unload your IT equipment. If any of your electronics require a recycling fee, you will be asked to come back to the main office to arrange for payment. We accept cash, checks, and all major credit cards.
I have hard drives in my computers. Do I need to take them out before giving you my electronics?
No. In fact, we encourage you to recycle them as well to minimize your data security risk. As an R2:2013-certified electronic recycler, we are required to secure the data of any data-bearing device that enters our facility, so your hard drives are treated with the enterprise-level security. Data-bearing devices are erased using data-erasure software that meets or exceeds federal regulations for data sanitization, and any devices that fail the erasure process are destroyed, so recycling hard drives with us makes for a hassle- and worry-free electronic disposal process.

What will you do with my electronics?
Our goal is to get the most value for every IT asset that enters our facility, so we first reuse and then recycle any electronics that we receive. IT assets that are still functional and have some market value are refurbished and remarketed, any that cannot be remarketed are harvested for parts to use in refurbishing other assets, and any that have exhausted their remarket or harvest value are broken down into recyclable commodities (steel, plastic, etc.) and sent to downstream recyclers for final processing. But regardless of whether your recycled electronics get a new lease on life in another consumer’s hands or end up as steel piping in the new library across the street, none of your electronic waste will end up in a landfill or overseas.
